The Position

Shermco Systems Integration is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Foreman, which will be responsible for planning, installing, testing and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in a customer-facing role. This is a working supervisor position, who will also provide guidance and work duties to other I&E technicians within their team.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute multiple facets of I&E automation, construction, and maintenance programs supporting company goals and facility operations.
  • Supervise I&E Technicians through motivation, training and development, to achieve a safe, efficient and cost-effective operation.
  • Read, interpret, and understand construction project specifications.
  • Act as liaison and technical resource for management, field personnel and subcontractors as necessary to coordinate and ensure all aspects of installation and testing procedures, means and methods have been identified and agreed to.
  • Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting and resolution of issues associated with instrumentation, control valves, process controllers, PLC hardware and control systems.
  • Coordinate repair, testing, and installation of control panels, PLC’s, I/O modules and communications equipment.
  • Work closely with Operations and the Software Department on troubleshooting and resolving I&E and automation issues.
  • Work closely with electrical construction crew to coordinate work.
  • Work with I&E and software personnel as needed to maintain I/O from device, through PLCs and into supervisory systems.
  • Day-to-day maintenance and repair, including hands on troubleshooting, as well as contractor management and work/quality inspection.
  • Proactively identify potential (or developing) field issues and alerting managers for proactive remediation.
  • Assist with commissioning of various tools and equipment.
  • Provide remote and in-person support for instrumentation and electrical issues at client locations.
  • Establish/Maintain behaviors that demonstrate Safety as a Personal Core Value.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and safety requirements and protocols.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years industrial experience
  • 2+ years supervision experience
  • Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician license is preferred but not required.
  • Two-year degree or completion of trade school preferred
  • Ability to work safely, and an eagerness to contribute to a safety-focused team.
  • Industrial facility safe work qualifications preferred
  • Electrical understanding of schematics and controls, VFD’s, control loops, pneumatic/hydraulic theory, industrial networking, relay logic and analog & digital signal loop theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of instrumentation and electrical construction, maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
  • Possess strong Supervision and Leadership qualities
  • Ability to accurately analyze, assess and mitigate safety risks and concerns
  • Knowledge and familiarity of other trades and departments work requirements
  • Ability to complete work related documents accurately and efficiently
  • Must be flexible and willing to work out-of-town with regular overnight travel
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability
  • Analytical, time management, and logical decision-making capabilities
  • Calm, positive attitude under pressure
  • Strong communication skills

Other Requirements:

  • Strong preference for individuals who are able and willing to demonstrate their personal commitment to Safety.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and currently have (and be able to maintain) a good driving record.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.

Pay Range

USD $35.00 - USD $45.00 /Hr.
