PROJECT MANAGER - Data Center Construction (Commissioning Lead / Power Systems Trade)
Join our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, engineering, & commissioning. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with either NETA field testing experience who has an interest and acumen for a PM role OR we will consider a PM with Data Center Construction or we will consider a PM with strong knowledge of electric power systems (i.e., commissioning, arc flash, substations, switchgear, etc.) OR we will consider an electrical engineer with electrical power systems who has the interest and acumen to be a PM. You will work 50% of the time in our Kansas City office and 50% of the time at local client sites. Shermco Industries is accredited by NETA and is the largest independent electrical testing company in North America.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely by following documented company and client safe work practices.
  • Manage electrical testing and commissioning projects from start to finish.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget (project tracking for milestone completion).
  • Coordinate resources and acceptance testing activities with clients, contractors, local Shermco office, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and Perform NETA Acceptance Testing and electrical commissioning per project specifications.
  • Provide leadership and training to project team members.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and distributed to project stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • At minimum we prefer an associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or a EE Degree from an ABET accredited college, and/or related training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)
  • 5 years of experience with either NETA field testing/troubleshooting experience who has an interest and acumen for a PM role OR we will consider a PM with Data Center Construction with some electrical or we will consider a PM with strong knowledge of electrical power systems (i.e., commissioning, arc flash, substations, switchgear, etc.) OR we will consider an electrical engineer with electrical power systems who has an interest and acumen to be a PM
  • Must have computer skills including email, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerDB a plus.
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
  • Prefer OSHA 10/30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70 E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training on each can be provided by Shermco.
  • Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • NETA, II III, or NICET Certification or Electrician license preferred, but not required. 
Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and currently have and be able to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • If applying for position, must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer sponsored visa (work permit).
  • Must be willing to travel; minimum 25%.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $166,200.00 /Yr.
