Position Overview

Shermco is seeking a Front Line Supervisor to lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–10 Field Service Technicians. This is a working supervisor role that combines hands-on technical field work with leadership, safety, and performance management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader committed to upholding our high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership

  • Lead by example and promote Shermco’s Core Principles and safety-first culture
  • Provide job direction, support project execution, and ensure technicians have tools and resources to succeed
  • Supervise and mentor technicians in the field; support their technical and career growth
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of leadership

Safety

  • Ensure technicians are current on required safety training and follow all EHS protocols
  • Reinforce proper use of JHAs, AHAs, Energized Work Permits, and other required tools
  • Role model and mentor Human Performance principles and safety behaviors

Technical & Career Development

  • Conduct skills assessments, maintain technician training matrices, and develop individualized training plans
  • Support technicians in understanding and applying SOPs, completing documentation, and preparing for certifications
  • Monitor and review data sheets and reports for accuracy and timeliness

Customer Service

  • Ensure team demonstrates the "Shermco Difference" through professionalism and quality service
  • Guide technicians in obtaining change orders and managing client expectations
  • Teach and mentor on effective job execution and communication with customers

Communication

  • Deliver timely and appropriate information to technicians and escalate unresolved issues
  • Maintain consistent communication with management and peer supervisors
  • Participate in monthly supervisory meetings and promote open, two-way communication

Performance Management

  • Provide real-time performance feedback and document disciplinary action when necessary
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases according to company policy

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a field service, electrical, or power systems environment
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical proficiency in electrical systems and related tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer use
  • Current on all required safety certifications (OSHA, NFPA 70E, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty physical
  • Must be fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Must be willing and available for regular domestic travel (minimum 40%)
