Overview

We are looking for a proactive and process-minded Sr Business Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is critical in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements that lead to meaningful data and technology solutions.

As the primary point of contact for incoming requests, you'll work closely with stakeholders to clarify objectives, document outcomes, and ensure that each initiative moves forward with purpose and alignment. Beyond just capturing requirements, you’ll help shape and evolve how we manage work—from intake through delivery—ensuring nothing gets lost between request and result.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Frontline for Request Intake
    • Facilitate discovery conversations with stakeholders to understand business problems, priorities, and desired outcomes. Ensure submitted requests are fully defined and actionable.
  • Translate Needs into Requirements
    • Break down high-level asks into user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria that enable focused execution.
  • Bridge the Gap Between Business and Delivery Teams
    • Communicate clearly across functional lines to ensure mutual understanding of scope, status, and expectations.
  • Drive the Lifecycle of Work
    • Partner with technical teams to track progress, clarify scope, remove blockers, and provide updates to stakeholders throughout the sprint cycle.
  • Strengthen Process and Structure
    • Bring consistency to how requests are documented, prioritized, tracked, and followed through—using tools like Microsoft Loop, Jira, or SharePoint.
  • Champion Agile and Iterative Progress
    • Embrace a working model where value is delivered iteratively. Help business users define MVPs and provide feedback early and often.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years in a business analyst, technical analyst, or project management role
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams and managing the lifecycle of business or data projects
  • Exposure to reporting and analytics environments; experience working with data teams or BI developers preferred
  • Certifications in Business Analysis or PM (e.g., PMP, CBAP, PMI-PBA) or Agile (e.g., Scrum Master) are a plus

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Familiarity with Power BI—capable of understanding report structures, data flows, and data model concepts
  • Experience with work tracking systems such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
  • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and basic data concepts such as KPIs, data sources, and data validation

Leadership and Communication

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between business needs and technical requirements
  • Comfortable leading meetings, facilitating discussions, and presenting information to diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to foster trust, manage expectations, and build consensus
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and promoting process consistency across teams

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to connect small details to big-picture goals
  • Adept at identifying ambiguities or gaps in requests and asking the right follow-up questions
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex business problems into clearly defined requirements
