We are seeking a Procurement Operations Director for our Irving, TX location,  responsible for overseeing day-to-day procurement activities and ensuring the efficient execution of sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management processes. This role drives operational excellence by streamlining procurement workflows, optimizing vendor performance, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and partnering cross-functionally to support organizational goals. This is a fast paced, high volume environment. 

 

 

Responsibilities

    • Oversees the daily operations of the Procurement Operations department
    • Comfortable presenting Progress and Results to high level Executives
    • Develop and track KPIs to monitor and improve Key Supplier and Procurement Coordinator performance
    • Drive Program Adoption of Most Preferred Suppliers by creating and executing a multi-channel Communication Strategy for our 40+ Office Locations and Operations teams
    • Development of a Steering Committee to fuel and enable partnership with Stakeholders
    • Partnership and communication with Accounts Payable and other departments
    • Deep knowledge of Procurement Processes including Purchase Orders and Vendor Card Management
    • Ability to create Procurement Policies and Procedures as well as managing internal Procurement Gateway
    • Strong background in operating and rolling out Procurement technology
    • Develops purchasing channels, including Catalogues, Punch Outs, etc.
    • Ability to conduct “BID to Buy” negotiations and reach Pricing Agreements
    • Support Brick and Mortar location moves, acquisitions and new openings
    • Ownership of Apparel and Office Supplies Programs including supplier development

     

    Essential Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

    • Highly organized and adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Collaborate with company managers and stakeholders to understand their specific procurement needs and requirements
    • Manage Procurement Operations teams’ activities including Procurement Supervisor and Coordinators by understanding their needs, creating accountability, and encouraging personal growth
    • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as vendor and/or Stakeholder non-compliance
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum of 10+ years Procurement experience and 5+ years of Management experience to include managing people
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
    • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
    • Must have strong business acumen and the ability to converse with all levels within the organization, including executive leadership
    • Must be process oriented and have experience creating end-to-end purchasing processes
    • Must have the ability to influence people
    • Must be energetic and enthusiastic
    • Must have experience managing a group of PO creators
    • Procurement technology implementation experience and experience creating catalogs with procurement technology
    • Strong negotiations skills to drive savings
    • Experience working with internal finance and A/P departments
    • Any experience in the electrical/power industry is helpful but not required
    • Experience working for a Fortune 500 company is desired but not required
