Job Summary:
We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to oversee our branch logistics operations.  This position will manage facility, equipment and fleet vehicle lifecycle and sustainment.  The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment is in excellent working condition, calibrated, meets safety and regulatory standards, and is readily available for project needs. Additionally, this position will ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations, manage Driver Qualification (DQ) files, assist in motor vehicle incident investigations, and provide strategic guidance on the use of vehicle telematics and dashcam systems (e.g., Samsara).  This position will support our Nashville Field Service and Engineering operations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:


Fleet Vehicle, Facility and Equipment Management and Maintenance

  • Maintain Electrical Testing Equipment: Implement and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all electrical testing equipment. Support field and shop technicians by ensuring all equipment is functional and available when needed.
  • Responsible for ordering, shipping and receiving all Rental equipment needed to support Field Service operations when company equipment is not available.
  • Calibration Management: Oversee and coordinate the calibration schedule for all test equipment across technicians and shop equipment. Ensuring all instruments are within their calibration cycles and records are accurately maintained.
  • Job Trailer Management: Manage the organization, stocking, maintenance, and preparation of all job trailers, ensuring they are fully equipped and "job-ready" for dispatch to various project sites.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment malfunctions and coordinate or perform necessary repairs, minimizing downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all equipment maintenance, repairs, calibration certificates, and inventory movements using an inventory management system (IMS) or software.
  • Oversee and maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files and ensure all drivers meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Administer and optimize the branch’s vehicle telematics and dashcam systems (e.g., Samsara), analyzing data to improve driver behavior and fleet safety performance.
  • Lead and coordinate motor vehicle incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Track, report, and analyze key safety metrics related to fleet operations and vehicle performance.
  • Provide ongoing driver safety training and support continuous improvement initiatives within the EHS department.
  • Partner with operations, HR, and leadership to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability across department.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee receiving, storage, organization, and distribution of electrical supplies, tools, and equipment within the warehouse.
  • Logistics & Shipping/Receiving: Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure timely equipment allocation, shipment, and return, managing the check-in/checkout process efficiently.
    Space Optimization: Develop and implement procedures for efficient space utilization and a highly organized warehouse layout.
  • Purchasing: Monitor inventory levels, identify needs, and manage the procurement process for new equipment, parts, and supplies within the allocated budget.

Safety and Compliance

  • Safety Protocols: Establish and enforce rigorous safety protocols and procedures for equipment handling, storage, and maintenance, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

Training: Provide or coordinate training to warehouse and field personnel on the proper use, handling, and safety procedures for equipment

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in equipment, warehouse, or fleet management, preferably within the electrical, construction, military or related industry.
    • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, maintenance practices, and repair techniques is highly preferred.
    • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Software Proficiency: Proficient in using inventory management software, maintenance management systems (MMS), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
    • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and manage vendor relationships.
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred).
    • License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Business Management, Logistics) or relevant technical certifications are a plus.

Pay Range

USD $35.00 - USD $43.00 /Hr.
