About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to lead day-to-day field operations across British Columbia. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and engineering services.


Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, the Field Service Manager oversees field teams, supports operational performance, and ensures compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable industry standards. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep technical understanding and a commitment to safety and service excellence.

Responsibilities

Operational & Financial Execution

  • Oversee daily field operations, including scheduling, dispatch, and technician utilization
  • Monitor key performance metrics (utilization, backlog, work-in-progress, and productivity)
  • Support management of departmental budgets, labour costs, and job performance
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and client requirements

Safety & Compliance (BC)

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture aligned with WorkSafeBC regulations and company policies
  • Ensure adherence to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA standards, and NETA guidelines
  • Conduct safety meetings, support toolbox talks, and participate in incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with the British Columbia Employment Standards Act (hours of work, overtime, and workplace policies)

Customer & Service Delivery

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients through reliable service delivery
  • Support resolution of service issues, escalations, and field challenges
  • Ensure projects meet contractual requirements, timelines, and quality expectations
  • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver integrated service solutions

People Leadership

  • Lead and supervise field technicians, team leads, and supervisors
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to develop technical and leadership capabilities
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, and engagement

Planning & Coordination

  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation in collaboration with the General Manager
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams to align staffing with project demand
  • Assist in forecasting workload and identifying resource gaps

General Responsibilities

  • Support branch and organizational initiatives as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across operations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in electrical services, power systems, or industrial field operations
  • Experience leading and coordinating field-based technical teams
  • Strong understanding of field service operations, scheduling, and workforce management

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of:
    • WorkSafeBC regulations
    • BC Employment Standards legislation
  • CEC, CSA, and NETA standards
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and team leadership capabilities
  • Experience with operational metrics, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel within British Columbia, including overnight travel as required
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to meet pre-employment requirements in accordance with applicable laws

Pay Range

CAD $170,000.00 - CAD $180,000.00 /Yr.
